Demand challenge – message from Public Affairs

Have you seen the comms stuff on the demand challenge?

What do you think of it?

Some people have called for CA to take a stand on what we can all be expected to deliver (or expect ourselves to deliver)- at a time when demand is sky rocketing – at what point and to whom and how do we say ‘sorry we can’t help’…or do we just go on doing more with the same resources – or fewer resources (even if we get more money we are now all short of people to do the work it seems)…

The latest message seems to be ‘sorry we haven’t been able to help you yet..’ which implies that if people wait long enough, we will help them – is that so? can we? should we? what should CA strategy be?

Linked with the ongoing call for a percentage of calls on Adviceline to be answered when the absolute number sky rockets and the donation pot discussions where CA offered for us all to learn from LCAs that hit high targets (presumably with a view to us all then being able to do more)… how does this all feel to you?

Fancy to chat about it? If so, let us know and we can run through some things on a call…
