Management pathway update from Angela

Devised for people new into management – 18 learners, 12 have completed across as number of LCAs – Course evaluation – very positive that this was provided. Some levels of disappointment in the resource provided by the institute which is not geraed to VCS

Everyone loved the action learning sets – 5 of them were great success

Some learners asked for somethingmore in depth

Some learners wanted more accreditation

Some said probably don’t need institute of learning and management – however, it gave those involved in running it some useful resources.. Will follow up to see what recommendations are for next steps – maybe go to OU and ask for something for the network.. a certificate in VCS management – 30/40 learners per year might work well for OU. We need clarity on what we want to achieve- many of learners have degrees, but need support on management- prob not looking for another qualification, but support to manage teams in the VCS.

The ILM certificate is the CA management pathway – this mandates the modules that the learners need to meet – certificate of completion but not of grade obtained.

HUGE thanks to Angela (Kerr) for leading on this and investing so much time for us all..informal discussions with Warren and Clare (thanks Chris (Roberts)) called for support to train leadership across the network to provide for succession planning. Noted that this may be the next big partnership endeavour between CA/LCA- Andy will pursue this
